The secrets of Old Acre are revealed through a unique experience that takes you on a journey through the city above and the city below.

Only in Old Acre can you discover a perfectly preserved city—a Crusader city that was uncovered and brought back to life, hidden directly beneath the city built above it.

This extraordinary phenomenon, unique on a global scale, earned Old Acre the title of a UNESCO World Heritage Site, recognizing its outstanding cultural heritage.

Ancient walls and fortresses, the Knights’ Halls and the secret Templars’ Tunnel, churches, synagogues and mosques, a traditional Turkish bath and an art market, as well as the stories of different religions and peoples—from the Canaanites and Romans, through the Crusaders and Ottomans, to the British.

1. Visit the Crusader Fortress – the fortress of the Hospitaller Quarter (Knights’ Halls), one of the largest Crusader fortresses discovered in the world.

2. Visit Artists’ Street in the Knights’ Halls, featuring ancient works of art and opportunities to experience games from the Middle Ages.

3. Visit the renovated Turkish Bath (Hammam) – The Story of the Last Bath Attendant. A multimedia experience that brings the hammam to life through the eyes of its last attendant and tells the story of Acre during the Ottoman period.

4. Visit the Okashi Museum – a museum of modern art named after Avshalom Okashi.

5. Visit the new Ramchal Synagogue and Visitors’ Center, which tells the story and heritage of Acre’s Jewish community.

6. Explore the Templars’ Tunnel – an underground passage running from east to west through Acre. Visitors walk along a wooden walkway with flowing water beneath them, accompanied by a multimedia experience throughout the route.

To complete the experience, visitors can add a visit to the colorful and spectacular Eastern Market (Souk) – a vibrant market featuring spices, fresh fish, gifts, and many other fascinating and beautiful items.
